Yet more Soulseek problems... I can now get into Soulseek pretty reliably and have been able to for a couple of days now, but it keeps locking up on me for about 10-20 seconds at a time. Anybody else getting this? I like Soulseek and I'm certainly not ready to give up on it yet. I still can't get the music I want anywhere else, not since the Audiogalaxy copyright thing. Gnutella, Grokster, WinMX and iMesh all have a poor selection of files as yet. I appreciate all the work that has gone into Soulseek to make it the best file-sharing system around, it has an interface orders of magnitude better than anything else, but I really wish Nir would take a break with the work and let us have a bit of stability for a while. Soulseek has really revolutionised my listening. I have always bought a lot of music anyway, but I can now check out things I would have never taken the risk of buying, and I have found so much rare stuff I just wouldn't have been able to get anywhere else. It's broadened my (admittedly already broad) tastes considerably. I owe my current hardcore obsession (and a pair of blown speakers. duh!) to soulseek and audiogalaxy. That music is very hard to get in the shops (especially now Ambient Soho has closed down), and there's no other way I would have been able to find out about and listen to so much of it without blowing loads of money on mail ordering music which I knew nothing about.
