yep, as of midnight last night, somafm has pulled the plug.
no more streams of kickass music with no commercials.
i have made a conscious decision to avoid buying music from labels
in the list of riaa members:
http://www.riaa.com/About-Members-1.cfm
i also intend to write to the riaa and tell them that.
however, one thing to remember is that with this ruling, the riaa
is empowered to collect fees not just for riaa member labels, but
for ALL labels. i originally thought that i could continue my
web radio show by by playing all non-riaa member labels, but
that's not the case. i'd still be responsible for on the order
of $8 per listener per day.
