i'd say that it's the best release on Force Inc in quite some time. In fact
Akufen is one of the few artists whose work has really surprised me lately.
All of his releases are worthwhile, but everything starting with Perlon's
"Quebec Nightclub" 2x12" release is essential. Most of his material is
comprised heavily of snippets of radio and television, all organized over a
funky tech-house style that is strictly his own... "My Way" expands on this
with some more laid back tracks mixed within the crazier selections, but
from about track 4 onward, it's straight-ahead sample-heavy goodness.
I highly recommend his material to anyone who's been bored with the more
regular tech-house sounds cropping up lately.
If you want to hear more for yourself, go to amazon.com and listen to some
short realaudio clips...
Does anyone know if there are plans for a CD compilation of all the Akufen
Trapez "Psychometry" 12" releases? I have vol. 3 and the 2 remix releases
that followed, but haven't had the opportunity to check out the first 2...
and would love them all on one CD.
