Wednesday night
BOLA!!!
yep, you heard right, Bola or Skam records if performing his first NYC show
ever tomorrow night at filter 14. For those of you who don't know who he is
well, heres the scoop: Bola's been around since the early days of Warp's AI
comps and the first Gescom releases on Skam, you know, back when IDM
actually had something to do with dance music. In those days it wasn't all
nerds and chin scratchers. Skam put out Bola's first 12" and then followed
with a series of singles and now 2 albums. Now everyone and their mother is
in love with Boards of Canada but few remember buying that blue 12" with
braile type, this was long before warp and matador picked it up. Bola is
along those lines, lush melodies, interesting dance beats and forever in
secret, until now.
Also tomorrow night we have Sky Tucker's debut live performance. Sky's been
making some of the most interesting tracks I've heard in ages, right under
the nose of so many labels. We at Record Camp have been waiting for this
live set for ages. Be sure to buy one of his CDs off of him.
And lastly Record Camp and Glitch will be taking care of everything else
along with the static residents.
