hello, sorry to post techy gear talk on the list but i purchased the eMagic EMU2|6 sound converter and am trying to use it a sound-input with my G4 laptop. i cannot get logic audio (or BIAS peak) to properly load the drivers that i downloaded from emagic.de (the newest updates, because the version on the CD wouldn't work either). in BIAS Peak i get an error that "The ASIO Driver could not be loaded because of an unexpected error," and in Logic Platinum I get an error of "ASIO Error: out of memory (-108)". this basically renders the device completely useless, and I am wondering if anyone who is familiar with it has had a similar problem, or knows of a way to fix the problem. I've tried allocating as much as 80MB to Logic's memory and it's still giving me the same errors. It's worked in the past (seemingly random) and I don't know what the parameters are that determines whether it loads properly or not. I will admit that I'm not using a licensed copy of Logic, but I'm test-driving a version installed from a friend's purchased software (if I'd actually bought it and gotten these errors I'd be REALLY irritated), so it shouldn't be a corrupted application issue at all. I'm using OS9.2.1 on a 500mhz G4 laptop, with 384MB of RAM and currently over 1GB of free disk space. any help's greatly appreciated!!!! please respond offlist to: mmercer@matthewmercer.com sorry again for the off-topic post, just getting frustrated and looking for help... thanks matt _________________________________________________________________ Join the world?s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
