While the Proem 'Among Others' and Somatic Responses
'Dying Language'(which is out btw) are both incredible releases,
to my ears, the don't really sound all that similar.
The proem is a alot more subdued and mellow while the
somatics disc has more tension too it. I can HIGHLY,
recommend both discs :)

Well, after having a chance to (sort-of) compare three
releases (by coincidence) i found that Proem's 'Among
Others' (N5MD), Somatic Responses upcoming full length
'Dying Language' (Ad Noiseam) and Andre Estermann's
'Balloon' (Sellwell) are quite similar in style. Ranging from
rhythmic, bouncy melodies to abrasive and abstract
electronics, all three of these titles have deep basslines
paralleled with sharp production. Three excellent releases
i think many list members should look into..
Websites for the releases listed above are ::

Sellwell :: www.sellwell.de
Another release that didn't get too much mention last year
was Tim Tetlow's 'Beauty Walks a Razor's Edge' on Planet-Mu
(i would compare this album to early Aphex Twin, and at
points even surpassing that era..) Preciously crafted ambient
electronics with some of the most beautiful melodies, rhythms,
and percussion.. A definite highlight album from 2001 that i
still play even today..
Pietro.
