i get most of my new idm through www.skimo.com.
the guy who runs skimo, pj, sends out a mailing every
weekend with the new stuff and restocks, and you can
either order on the site or by email (he stores your
payment info). i've had nothing but a great experience
with skimo. of course, this is not so useful if you're looking
for older/rare things, but to keep up on all the shiny
new idm and also electro and more, he's your guy.
most other stuff i try to buy direct from the label, from
my local huge used cd emporium (hurray for amoeba records!)
or other smaller online distributors. for more mainstream
stuff i like www.cdconnection.com -- they NEVER list stuff
they don't have in stock, and they have a surprising amount
of not-so-mainstrream stuff, like pork and warp and so on.
