See, I said worldview, because to me, hearing the early Autechre albums led
me to appreciating electro-acoustics. That in turn gave me a broader
understanding of sound design, and more importantly, opens up new
possibilities for music, and music theory. Thus affecting my world view.
So the response to my post also yielded soem intrest in Hop Hop. I've got to
say that Cannibal Ox does the very same thing for me! El-p's production
brings in such a unique vision in sound design (70-s analogue elects.,
Strange time signatures, noises, phillip glass samples) that it really got
me exploring the earlier analogue stuff. Granted, the Anticon posse is a
more direct link to electro-acoustics and left-field music, but I don't
personally enoy it nearly as much...
