i order from bent crayon regularly and have had no problems. i actually just
got an order yesterday that i placed last thursday, very quick turnaround
(pretty large order, too). occasionally they'll be out of 1 or 2 items on a
long list and will just leave it out of the order (sometimes I need to
figure out what those items were).
it's a small shop (1-2 employees at most) and i think john fills all the
orders himself...not sure what to tell you other than that. the best way to
order is to cut and paste what you want into an email and send it that
way... that seems to be a lot faster than using the shopping cart on the
site, in my experience. (incidentally, i used to live in cleveland and know
that they're closed on mondays, if you tried to contact them yesterday for
example).
i will have to say that bent crayon has a much better selection than
practically ANY site i've used... including forced exposure. i tried
browsing skimo for the first time recently and found the search engine
thoroughly aggravating... maybe i wasn't using it properly, but i couldn't
find practically anything i wanted and it kept bringing up "news updates"
rather than a database listing. this is a terrible way to shop online in my
opinion. i like the engines on BC and FE much, much better. FE doesn't seem
to carry half as much of the more dancefloor stuff I'm into (Gigolo,
Rapture, etc etc), especially when it gets more and more obscure.... so i
just order from the place with the best selection for what I want.
