They are an industrial band formed in the early 80's. Lead singer
William Bennett howls, screams, insults, and generally tries to act
tough while a screechy note is held down on a cheap synth at the
highest possible frequency. I never got the attraction, but I have
witnessed their albums selling for well over $100 so obviously there
are some who go in for this sort of thing big time.
They were part of the same scene which germinated Nurse With Wound
and Current 93, two of my favorite bands, but Whitehouse just plain
suck IMO.
