Keep my-- hahahahaha haha ha, oh shit you crack me up. No... no, I don't think I will. You got me all wrong, pal. I don't DISLIKE BoC-- I often find myself putting on "beautiful place" when I can't decide what I feel like listening to, and it always seems just about right for that-- but I do think that other points of veiw need to be represented, hence my negative or neutral opinions. As for being respected in "the scene," I certainly wouldn't presume to speak for the others to whom you refer, but I don't really think I'm actually in the scene. I'm on the list because this is a fairly interesting list to be on, and good threads come up, and music discussed here is more likely to be music I enjoy than otherwise, but I don't personally know so much as one single other human being besides myself who even knows what the term "IDM" means. This exchange, for example, I am enjoying thoroughly. In summary: The scene, for me, is a non-entity. I don't really care about the scene, because I don't know anyone in the scene. I've never read a BoC review in my life. I am acutley and constantly aware-- neurotic, even-- of whether my opinions are truly my own, or whether they are a reaction to the opinions of others, and I generally try to avoid the latter. Now I know that's 100% more than you ever wanted to know, but please don't make assumptions about me. It gets my dander up. I'm sure you'll regard all of this as "indie-r than thou" posturing, but I'm not laboring under the illusion that I can convince you of anything over the friggin internet. Maybe I'll see you at a show some day, and you'll want to punch me in the neck, and I'll buy you a drink. I'm just that kind of bastard.
