How 'bout some thoughts on the album? I picked it up the other day, and I'm not sure how it's gonna go over with everybody. I tend to like his earlier stuff (RCDevine 12", Ischemic Folks tracks) more than Lipswitch, but I like Aleamapper for different reasons. Ya know those 1 and 2 minute noise interludes between songs on Lipswitch? Well, the majority of Aleamapper are noise tracks like those. I mapped it out- 16 tracks only 4 of which have beats or resemble traditional songs, at least in Richard Devine terms. So the vast majority of the album is made up of these soundscape-y noisy songs. Not exactly what I was expecting, especially after seeing him play a few times over the last couple years, where live he's quite industrial strength pounding grooves. But still good, if I'm in a rubato noisescape mood. Oh ya- record goes at 33.
