I think the one that did it for me was the "Spin Spin Sugar" remix... the bassline on that was just evil. See, there are certain things in music that I will always go for. Mogwai style bombast. Huge simple cheesy melodies (yes, I admit it, I like fluffy trance). And real deep basslines. There's a few jungle tunes that get me every time, so I had to buy them and keep them onhand. I think Look Jerk Sound System was the one who did the one on sm:)e that I keep in my crate and play all the time. "The Aim" by Single Cell Orchestra is another one. Not to mention it's got chopped up vocals, which I am also a sucker for.

I just use "techno" as an umbrella term for electronic music.

Two step is huge in Dallas in that underground sense... the MAN is keeping everything except house or whichever form of triphop is hot right now. So it bubbles under and gets huge, just like jungle. Usually, we ape whatever popular trend ahead of most of the rest of the country. Jungle/B&B was one where we were very far behind for a very long time. And of course, our IDM scene is... not too big. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
