A good place to start would be a fusion of the two.. Check out Drew Daniel's (1/2 of matmos) soft pink truth record on Herbert's soundslike label. It's fun to hear house music made by people that hate house. I would lump Beige in with these cats, their track on the 2nd ~scape comp would fall in line with this stuff. You may also consider looking into some of Akufen's production... he has a lot of stuff out there right now, but the best of it really has a 1-2-1-2-1-2-funk to it.. I'd recommend his remix of algorithm's delgado track on revolver 5 or his trapez psychometry records. I can't comment on his perlon double because I haven't heard it. Twerk and Safety scissors may be worth investigating as well. Granted some of these cats are a little more stripped down then matmos or herbert, but they've still got that swing. hope that helps.. ~g -- Greg Smith http://www.technowest.org http://www.laiad.com http://www.mediawhore.cc <-- site launch Jan 1/02 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
