So just got this from PBE (more info on the release at http://www.touch.demon.co.uk/releases/Tone14.html) Esentially it's a collection of sound files designed to be used as ringtones on future, more flexible cellular phones that can play arbitrary soundfiles. (I'm sure some aren't actually intended to be used, but to comment on ringtones in general, etc etc) Interesting...this reminds me of the rumor that Brian Eno worked on some of the system noises for Windows 95. Does anyone know of other instances of utilitarian sound design by artists? For example: you know how Windows lets you select 'sound themes'? I'd love to have one designed by (insert the name of your favorite idm artist here). just daydreaming... Lukas
