However, my partner Stephen Ives is still in HK and will be doing some weird stuff on his own. I'm afraid I forgot to mention that he was playing on Sunday night at Club 64 with an electric erhu player, our sometime collaborator Fok Sai-kit. Ah Kit is super-cool, she plays in the HK Chinese Orchestra and has a solo career doing classical Chinese music but she also loves plugging into an FX rack and jamming over some scratchy electronic beats and noises with us. We did a studio jam session with just before I left HK last month and have about two hours worth of avant-erhu playing recorded that we are planning to use for a future CD project... Email Stephen at <stephen@digitalcutuplounge.com> to get added to the DCL HK mailing list... BTW, you also might want to check out local HK electronic bands Slo-Tech Rhythm and Primary Shapes...maybe not IDM but they are doing some creative stuff. We just did a remix collaboration with Primary Shapes that will be floating around HK sometime soon...PS mostly do triphop kind of stuff and the Slo-Tech are off on a noisy breakbeat/postrock direction.

DJ Kulu is a real cool dude, I would recommend him as well...I believe he's doing jazz chillout sessions every Monday at phi-b and possibly also Friday or Saturday nights at Aqua, both of those in Soho (South of Hollywood Road, HK's latest hippest neighborhood).
