I found a CD on a shelf that I hadn't gone through in at least 20 years (!)
And I found a CD labeled "IDM Remix 1-14" -- an audio CD but nothing about
where it came from or who did the tracks on it.
The dates reported on the CD Audio tracks was December 31, 1994 but I don't
think that's right because I burned this CD (my handwriting on it) and
didn't have a CD burner until a few years after that.
Short of downloading all the pre-Y2K IDM list archives and searching
through them, I don't know how to find out what the hell is on this.
So of course, I ripped it and uploaded it for others to download it and
check it out. It seems pretty heavy on the noise-core, definitely after
the release of Aphex Twin "Ventolin EP" because a lot of it has that "sharp
stick in the ear" approach.
I am pretty sure I have a track on it -- probably the last one -- but
honestly I have zero memory of working on a track for this. Neither do I
have any idea why I have a hand labeled Audio CDR of it, unless I was
actually the person who mastered it. Which might be the case ... it has
that Waves L1 Ultramaximizer circa 1998 sound to it.
