I think you've put your finger on one of the things that fascinates me about
Bernd's Flanger/Con Ritmo work - that on first listening much of his recent
work sounds disposable, light, etc. However, it's been my experience that
just as 'difficult' music demands (and repays) application, so does his and
there's an amusing sort of contradiction here - the idea of concentrating on
music which at first sounds disposable is rather ridiculous - I like that!
and I like the playfulness implied by such work.
