Subject: RE: [idm] just moved to Atlanta, HELP (seconds anyone?)
I may be moving to Atlanta in the near future myself for the second time.
Looking to go to school there as well. Could someone possibly fill me in on
what venues are available as an outlet for multimedia style IDM events. Any
small clubs doing more underground experimental events. And maybe even
schools with good multimedia, audio engineering, etc programs / facilities.
. I checked out Eyedrum during my short stay there but they seemed to be
out in there own little world there with odd performances such as old people
playing guitar and singing folk music naked. I noticed a lack of good
record stores too. Criminal wasnt bad. Good staff and a few good cds. But
as a vinyl collector I had trouble finding much. Oh well guess there can
only be one Bent Crayon. Last time I visited there i heard about a new
store called mindzai. How has that turned out? Anything substantial there?
When / If i do move there I would like to have as much knowledge about the
scene there as possible as I will be interested in promoting and organizing
experimental multimedia events as well as performing and djing myself. Any
help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
