Hello,
I was thinking the other
day about certain albums
that really impressed me
the first time I heard them.
It seems that every so often
I hear something that sounds
incredibly different and "new".
I imagine some of this has to
do with not being familiar
with certain sub-genres, etc.
I also think there are certain
albums that just amaze you,
irregardless of your music
knowledge. So, here's a few
that really affected me
(in no order).
Sigur Ros-Ágætis Byrjun
Radiohead-OK Computer
Pole-1
Autechre-Chiastic Slide
Arab Strap-Philophobia
Fennesz-Endless Summer
These are not my favorite
albums, just ones that really
caught me off guard with their
unique-ness. I don't mean to
start a dumb thread. I'm just
curious if anyone else has
experienced this. Thanks!
best,
frank
