my second second in about two seconds (haha)
this is another great release. all you b. fleischmann fans should
definitely pick this up. it's not the 4 minute pop majesty of "whirr" but
it's kiiller nonetheless. this isn't bernard in your bed room. it's
bernard playing next to you on a dark patio under a full moon....
ah, to sleep, perchance to dream...

. B. Fleischmann: tmp cd (Charhizma)
The third album for Mr. Fleischmann is a live recording from a show
at the Museumquartier in Austria in November 1999 and shows a darker,
cinematic, more experimental side to his music. 'TMP' features two
tracks/parts, 17 & 52 minutes long, that combine some of
Fleischmann's pop-based melodies & structures with darker omnious
(almost industrial) downtempo percussion. Throughout both tracks the
experimental edged crunch/grit continuously battles back and forth
with the more accessible melodies for prominence creating a
continually evolving sound with a conflicted feel but it seems that
the signiture meloncholy melodies always win out. This album is
definitely not what I would have expected B.Fleischmann to sound like
live but the end result is just as impressive. Fans of previous
B.Fleischmann releases as well as those into meloncholitronica with
an ever-so-slight industrial-edged should definitely check 'TMP' out.
Recommended.
