I've personally been a big fan of Capcom's music for their games.
A friend of mine in college used to download Mega Man MIDI files and
remix them with his gear. The Shadow Man level music with a DX100
bassline and a techstep rhythm track is something to behold indeed, IMO.
Aside from Mega Man, they also did Bionic Commando, which remains my
all-time favorite video game music (the NES version) and even lately
their stuff has been sounding top-notch- some friend of mine was playing
a version of Street Fighter on Dreamcast and God Help Me I almost bought
the Japanese CD of the soundtrack to that sucker. Arcade-wise, I always
thought the 194x series of shmups and the Marvel Vs. Capcom games
sounded pretty damn nice as well.
Capcom needs to do a remix project, dammit.
You guys brought my Bionic Commando itch out of remission again.
