Yeah, the ones who respect what's going on when they arrive in a scene. I
don't mean any sort of 'unwritten code', just regular thoughtfulness. I
imagine most people have had the experience of being at an event where
someone you've never seen before shows up acting like an ass or trying to
'out-cool' everyone instead of just enjoying the music and making friends.
As an analogy, last week someone from AOL mailed me demanding free rap music
samples and then said I was 'anti-net' when I explained that I couldn't
really help him.
I don't mean that we should try to keep particular types of people away from
IDM or make it a big secret. I'm just a bit wary when commercial forces are
on the lookout for a new trend to link themselves to. That's all I have to
say on this subject.
