This got me thinking : I watched the tail end of Escape from New York the other night on TV and really liked the soundtrack. So I sat through all the tedious credits until the music ones came up right at the very very end... as they do ... and was surprised to see John Carpenter himself had done the music (together with somebody else; name escapes me). I've since been told he's scored most of his own movies. Is this true? Are they available as soundtracks? If so, do they "work" without the visuals? What a clever boy!
