I think I recommend this any time someone likes scarlet diva, but definitely check out Bill Ding's "Trust in God but Tie Up Your Camel" on Hefty if you haven't already, especially if you dig on Hughes' downtempo Beck-meets-Isaac-Hayes funk vox. One of my all time fave albums, with quite a bit of proto-Slicker electronics and rhythms.
