I went to Autechre expecting a powerbook duo, which is never much too see but one might hope it was interesting to hear. This show was dullsville. True there were hopeful momments but all in all I was disappointed. Brain crushing low end for an hour is quite taxing. There was the trademark off time signatures and clicktrack like intro but there was no audio magik, just gigantor's palpitating heart thump. I would of been happy if it had been an evening of broken music minus the beats. Too bad I missed Rob Hall & Russell Haswell. Actually too bad I missed Moton Subotnik the week before. Anyway I am still fond of Autechre. By the way don't miss Prefuse 73, whom I believe is opening for Tortoise on Florida dates and ATL dates. Also Nabukazu Takemura may be on that bill. Mouse On Mars is playing the Northeast hopefully they will hit the south. bye-bye tcaso --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
