Yup I have to agree with the original sentiment of the instigating post. Seems to me that much of the current crop of IDM hit a peak 12-14 months ago. Since then I've been less and less wowed by what I've been hearing. And I don't think it has to do with the quality of stuff coming out now, but more at the fact that the classic-ae-influenced/derivitive style has run its course. So these days I still stick to a handful of artists that have established a good reputation, but I just don't have the head or wallet to keep up with every new artist. These days I've pretty much directed my attention towards all the dubby and minimal techno.
