I'd heartily recommend Hearos. They make multiple variations, but the basic foam ones that look like pink bloated Goldfish crackers are really nice. They're more comfortable than wax or paper, and after having them in for about 15 minutes you don't even notice them, if you "installed them" correctly. I picked up a pack of 4 (two for my ears, two for my girlfriend's) and it was amazing being able to leave the venue, take out the earplugs, and hear everything just like you never went to a very very loud show. If you go to any music store in the area, you should be able to ask about earplugs and get some good recommendations. Most of the music store lackeys will rant on and on about their "custom made" ones which are, of course, the nicest kind, but are about 70 bucks and take a while to get made.
