Crazy. I'm not suprised that someone who mentioned this would be Canadian, as this is a Canadian movie by a Quebecois director. All I can really say is, if you get the chance, _see_ this movie. I found the plot to be solid sci-fi fun, but the visuals of this movie really do it justice. Not only does it look beautiful, it so delicately balances nature with technology, and has some truly outstanding visuals considering very little of it is 'special effects'ish. Ummm yeah. I would recommend 'A Time For Drunken Horses' also. Although I was expecting too much from it (I read many reviews giving it 5 stars, best movie of the year, etc.), but even with very high expectations I am still quite fond of it. Not your feelgood fare, but an incredibly told story. Other notables: Kenneth Lonergan-You Can Count On Me Christopher Nolan-Memento David Fincher-Fight Club (I didn't like it at all the first time I watched it. It _must_ be seen at least twice. And the Dust Brothers rule.) Oh yeah, and on the IDM-ish tip, regarding documentaries, has anyone seen either Dark Days or Scratch? I've read good reviews of both, and with DJ Shadow doing pro-bono soundtrack work for Dark Days, and Scratch being right up my alley, I'm highly anticipating both. Cheers ps. to the person who mentioned Insomnia, it is going to be remade by Chris Nolan, supposedly with Al Pacino starring. whether this is a good thing or not, I'll leave up to you to decide. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
