Shit yeah, "High Planes Drifter", what a great movie. I would rate "Fistful
Of Dollars", "For a Few Dollars More, and "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly"
as some of the top movies of all time strictly based on the dynamic of film
to soundtrack. Morricone's work combined with Sergio Leone's style (ie. all
those eye close-ups) was a perfect match. My vote for other best
soundtrack/movie combo (ie. not just a great soundtrack, but great
soundtrack that compliments movie perfectly) would go to "Andromeda Strain"
(great weird electronic soundtrack by Gil Melle, soundtrack is packaged in
ultimate spotters pack...hexagon shaped vinyl in multi folding silver
package), "Eraserhead", Dario Argento's "Susperia" (who doesn't like Italian
prog-sters "Goblin"), and "Planet Of The Apes".
There you go, I've now moved the movie topic back to music discussion.
For the people talking about Jodoworsky (spelling?), anyone know if his
films are on DVD yet? My "Holy Mountain" VHS is pretty warn out from over
the years.
