on movies (this is the idm list, no?)

the music to the 3 cronenberg films is wonderful!! (existenz, dead ringers, videodrome). the films themselves are REALLY gorgeous, IMO. i did a screening at my house not too long ago of existenz, and it was interesting to see how folks reacted to it (most seemed to like it, and find the complete analogy to sex and drugs entertaining to say the least, not to mention "a birthday is a special occasion") -- anyway, interesting thing is, after the film, i asked everyone else what they wanted to watch next. i briefly described videodrome, crash, and dead ringers -- and when i mentioned that dead ringers was about twin gynecologists (but very creepy) -- well, all the girls chose to watch it... guess there is that strange attraction? i want the instruments used in the film, i guess they are on display somewhere in canada .. anyone wanna go steal them for me? they get stolen in the film too.. so we could just play a nice little tribute in such a way :) blow i thought was good, but i was not quite expecting a film that was so SAD SAD SAD. paul rubens was pretty fun in it, IMO.. i think he whould star in a film about marc almond though. i know, LOTS of idm content here. let me finish off by saying storms in austin are certainly pretty -- especially when listening to fennesz.
