Got PD running on my system here at work using Windows 2000. Very very
nice.... for something that's practically beta-freeware, surely.
I haven't used it extensively (as in, left it running for hours) to know
how stable or robust it really is, but it survives long enough to get some
great use (i.e. render some wave files) out of it. Though I imagine
it's tough to use unless you have some programming language/math/sound
background in school. I just like the fact that they named an object
"moses" :) (Maybe this was a hand-me-down from Max)
Ultimately though, there's just no substitution for just using C/C++ to
make a program to process sound for you... though something like Max or PD
is a helpful to test out some mathematical ideas beforehand.
