i know this might seem totally cliche, and might not be mentioned on this board, but pete namlook (sadly departed) and his huge discography should hold some gems for you. obviously you are looking for a specific, "sub genre." if i may, the fax label i one huge melting pot for a myriad of ambient. i recommend you start by reading the reviews by fans that's hosted on hyperreal. the catalogue is large and i could never giver you any better review than anyone on that board. i would say for starters, look at his solo works on the, "ps," label, for there are two others. i can't think of anything off the head except for, i think there is a series called, "new organic life, " and also, the time help true masterpieces of, "silence." hope this helps! peace!
