You probably don't have much to worry about. The venue still says TBA, but ever since Mike Thrasher took over Pine Street, almost every electronic show has played there (and Satyricon's booking has been throttled by his ridiculous vise grip on the touring companies). So you can look forward to bad ventilation and disgruntled alcoholics, but you can probably also look forward to a show. Although, come to think of it, the last Warp act that came through hit Lola's, so you might still have to sit on crossed fingers for awhile or use this as an excuse to finally pick up a decent ID (Oregon's, luckily, is one of the easiest to make yourself). As for peeps complaining because some big cities have been overlooked for small ones this time around--- well, I for one am grateful. I'm assuming Autechre has played Toronto before, but they definitely have not played Portland, at least not since I've been paying attention. Nice of them to drop in on our fair city. And it really is good to see them playing irregular midsection stops like Columbus. I do hope that anyone who wants to see them is able to, but the "only the biggest cities, only the biggest crowds" approach to touring, while understandable from the band's perspective, generally means that it's the same people who get to see everything, and it's nice to see Autechre departing from that in a few cases even though they're making only a small tour. <<preparing to move even *farther* off the main touring path.....>> M. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
