i gots the gear for you then:
* maurice fulton, wet & sticky (transfusion) - amazing 3 tracker of
squelchy, minimal house... incredibly funky breakbeat action that sounds
more like matmos' recent house track on fatcat than any mainstream club
fare. a must-have.
* matmos, that track on the split with motion (fatcat) - much discussed
around these parts, they reconfigure some dumpster-dived R&B cd into the
best experimental house record in the last 12 months. i'm still itching to
hear drew's solo record on herbert's label.
* norken, soul static remixes (?) - maurice fulton mix once again nails it,
permeating norken's sublimely chilled melodies with off-kilter breakbeats.
deep, deep, deep.
* blaze, my beat (derrick carter electric circus mix) (?) - really tight and
minimal, it's got the same wobbly feel that makes the above so wonderful.
