well, almost all the playlists currently listed are in long vertical lists. maybe people should create more horizontal lists :) or like, a nice pretty table. maybe all the radioshow people should get together and just send out some HUGE mail at the end of every week compiling every single song played, in a multi-subject email, with a spreadsheet attached and a nice graph showing the frequency of autechre during any given internet hour :) it'd definitely make playlists a lot more interesting. i personally wonder how many of the "radioshows" are actually radio shows, and how many are people on fast connections who feel like setting up shoutcast servers and playing some mp3's. i also switched from digest to normal simply from the huge volume of emails i didn't like. i was on a 33.6 modem over the summer, and i never had a problem with the email from this list, even when i was gone for 2 weeks and had about 500 emails to download and delete (hehe). i just looked at the subject and hit delete. it's the same bandwidth either way (well, ok, there's a tiny bit more with the header information), and you have a lot more selection. and this isn't just in relation to the playlist factor - i would recommend the non-digest version hands down, for numerous reasons. like, actually being able to respond :) besides, at least playlists are on-topic, unlike this post. buy the new tadd mullinix cd. richard devine-esque programming with real melody! wow! cheers, /derek - - - - - Alice could not help her lips curing up into a smile as she began: "Do you know, I always thought Unicorns were fabulous monsters, too! I never saw one alive before!" "Well, now that we HAVE seen each other," said the Unicorn, "if you'll believe in me, I'll believe in you. Is that a bargain?" --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
