it sort of depends on your tastes. Panasonic gets progressively less accessible in my opinion, but also progressively better. the "vakio" album is more conventional in that it has a lot of straight forward 4-4 beats and things, a little more techno-influenced (influenced, not sounding necessarily) than the newer stuff. "Kulma" is sort of a cross between noisy beats and more sparse sounds. "A" is really really atmospheric and probably the most out there of them all, whereas "Aaltopiiri" (the new one) is really great, because it combines a little of all of them, from really ambient, sterile sounds to crazy noisy beat-oriented tracks. Also, if you can locate it, the "Osasto" EP, which I believe is out of print, is really really nice, very heavy, pounding abrasive percussion for most of it. They never really use melody much at all. "Aaltopiiri" has some interesting musical timbre that almost begins to have a melodic quality but never quite gets there entirely. Judging by your "np - Imminent Starvation," you like some of the current industrial stuff and you would probably really like the noisier stuff by Panasonic (Osasto, Aaltopiiri) Their solo stuff (Mika Vainio and Ilpo Vainesen) is more sparse and really abstract, not as ultimately rewarding in my opinion but still interesting in an "outer limits" sort of context. Vladislav Delay... "Multila," easily. The best. Very dense atmospherics that gradually evolve into percussive tracks.... it's really beautiful. His other stuff (with the exception of Luomo in my opinion) won't disappoint but "Multila" is the best of them all, on the Chain Reaction label.
