I just don't think it matters. Hiphop is primarily about music. The only time that "class" and "background" really matters is gangsta rap, where the prescedence is that they were hardcore from 'hood and such. Rappers that don't hide behind the pretense of a false image should not be judged by it! And for that matter, the Anticon crew make no secret about their background, they come true and don't hide anything about their life. you can tell from their lyrics that Sole and Buck65 are just like me. They grew up middle class, alienated, hiding in their basements for longer than is healthy.
