after a hectic couple of months, followed by a brief period of hybernation,
the intr_version team is back...

* Mitchell Akiyama, Tim Hecker: Jetone & Gordon Krieger Saturday Feb. 3 @
* Casa del Popolo

* Soon, alien8 recordings will be launching a new label or rather a sub
* label called Subtractif. The idea behind the new label will be to focus on
* more beat oriented electronic music and this coming Saturday's showcase at
* the Casa will give a good indication of what to expect.
*
* Mitchell Akiyama is the main man behind the hip new local techno label
* intr_version and will also be the first artist along with Toronto's Tomas
* Jirku to appear on Subtractif. Mitchell Akiyama has been steadily building
* a solid reputation for himself ever since his appearance at last years
* Mutek festival.
*
* Tim Hecker aka Jetone's talent is certainly no secret, with a recent
* release on Pitch Cadet and forthcoming releases to come out on Mille
* Plateaux and Subtractif.
*
* Montreal has really become a hot bed for incredibly talented techno
* producers and Akiyama and Hecker are two of the people that will be
* leading the way and breaking Montreal's techno underground on an
* international level. This will mark our second showcase at the Casa with
* Akiyama and Hecker and if it's anything like the last one, get ready for
* some excellent clicky, crunchy minimal and not so minimal techno.

* Gordon Krieger will open up the evening with his Sonatas for Mac voice
* project. Performing on the g4 powerbook, Krieger coaxes his computer to
* sing, all right maybe it doesn't sing-but it comes pretty close. The
* project was successful enough that Austria's Mego decided to release the
* work via their mp3 label, Falsch. Gordon Krieger is also one third of the
* drums, bass & tapes unit, exhaust.

* The show takes place at Casa del Popolo, located at 4873 St. Laurent, the
* showtime is 10 pm and the admission is $6.
also, look for releases from tomas jirku, a mitchell akiyama/jetone
collaboration, pheek and deadbeat in the near future.
