im sorry but i completely disagree with broadcast and stereolab sounding anything alike. they dont at all! broadcast is more like a contemporary ennio morricone soundtrack. they definitely sound alot like united states of america, that seems to have been a major influence. the vocals are performed in the same manner.
anyway i dont think you will really find anything that will sound quite like broadcast. moodwise yes. things that go along with broadcast in my opinion are:
pram
plone
some songs by dominique a. (the orchestrated ones)
i also think that some of the drone stuff fits well.
i guess it is more like matching wine with dinner. whatever fits that moody sound.
