just a thought, but my theory is that aphex sampled tod dockstader's "water music" for his "bucephalus bouncing ball" from the 'come to daddy' ep. somehow i just can't imagine RDJ dicking around with mathematical algorhythms like autechre claim to have done with their bouncing ball sounds on 'cichlisuite' etc. and even if that isn't the case, of all the avant garde artists that preceded what is now IDM (or whatever you want to call it) one of the least credited, most deserving of the lot is the aforementioned mr. dockstader. i just can't imagine: he was so ahead of his time, and yet relegated to mere 'novelty' status. shame really. c. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
