actually, the majority of synth patches he doesn't make. he has a whole
crew of sound designers with him, and they generally mess around with
software until they come up with sounds trent likes. it's true. 'twas in
an issue of Keyboard magazine, interviews 'n everything. he hasn't done
much production himself in quite a while - although he's still the one who
picks what to use.
and the guitar work on "the fragile" is all old things from 'the downward
spiral'. of course, now that i need the information i can't recall it, but
essentially there was one song on 'the downward spiral' that trent had some
famous guitar guy (arg!) do a couple hours of work for. but trent didn't
use any of it. but he still wanted to use it, cos it was cool, so he made
"the fragile" based around that guitar work. so that's just
samples. trent can play guitar, but he's not very good, which works
sometimes (i.e. broken).
of course, this probably is what creates a lot of the playa hatin' for
trent, cos a lot of IDM is DIY.
it's not that trent doesn't do anything interesting. it's just that i lost
interest after i graduated high school.

Alice could not help her lips curing up into a smile as she began:
"Do you know, I always thought Unicorns were fabulous monsters, too! I
never saw one alive before!"
"Well, now that we HAVE seen each other," said the Unicorn, "if you'll
believe in me, I'll believe in you. Is that a bargain?"
