I think you're mistaking what someone replied to what I said than to what I actually said. I think SAWII has great flow, and even the RDJ album can be heard in sequential order. I was just saying in general that he doesn't have flow, and for me that's important. I know it's not to all of you. But I hate having a piece of vinyl spinning, then having to go over and flip it cause the last track on one side is piece of dump. I don't have to like all the songs, but they at least SHOULdn't annoy me. They should pass and I shouldn't notice how BAD the music is.
Also, I enjoyed the other member who wrote about T. Reznor. He's totally right, all he did was copy ministry and try and associate with good electronic artists, b/c he knew they were dope shit, and he wasn't.
Maybe it's just me, but i'm sick of this let's give them platinum status b/c they are innovative. Fuck that.....isn't it about the music. I always use autechre as an example. Incunabula (and even Amber) were amazing albums. There new stuff is still AMAZING (hey it's autechre here), but there new stuff shouldn't be considered better just b/c they achieve new effects no one can do on ep7. Ep7 was pretty good, but doesn't compare to incunabula. Same thing with trent......who cares if he is innovative, his shti is dump. And of course this always leads to kid 606, who has achieved fame by making the most staticy noises and brain bugging effects possible. Fotunately he keeps refining his skills, and is beginning to put out some really good stuff, but about 50% of his music hurts!!! (literally), but of course everyone applauds him b/c no one can make those sounds like he does. There is a difference between pure noise and insanity, and ordered noise and insanity (hrvatski for example).
What is it we love about this music? is it the innovation? The genius? or the damn music? I love all the aspects, but when it comes down to it, i'm going to pop in some lexaunculpt over some rdj anyday, b/c andy has fluidity, rhythm, and creates PERFECTION, whereas rdj creates amazing songs, and songs i would play to torture people. If you want innovation, listen to some Lexaunculpt, Takemura, Hrvatski, Metamatics, or Funkstorung. All those artists have sounds only unique to who THEY are. They are innovative since no one can compare to what they do. BUT, they know that in that innovation, they gotta produce good music as well.
