There's some pretty nice minimal but hard garage stuff called Bassline.
Check it out sometime. I find myself liking about maybe 15% of the garage
stuff. But like a lot of musical genres that are starting up, it's still
got a good ways to go before people hop on the bandwagon and start making
some really nice stuff.
i personally like the garage with the really hard nasty 2 step hits, samples
from amens, etc, and really strong basslines.
