I think there's another more obvious `real' reason why Wendy Carlos is not not the best example. Anyway, I recall someone here compiling a list of female electronic musicians a year or two back. Whatever happened with that? I would be very eager to see her list now. I feel strongly that a web page should be set up to quell this re-curring thread. I think I'm the wrong gal to set it up though. About Mira Calix... the first ep was `produced' (or whatever) by her Ae boyfriend, but that's it. The _Pin Skeeling_ single was a collaboration with Disjecta. Her actual album was mainly her... right? And it was very disappointing by its own right. I hate to say it, but yeah, her ep with Ae was the best thing she's done so far and it's going to take a long time for her to shed the "Ae writes all of Mira Calix's stuff" misconception because of that. .`-). christopher miller o o.' evil@fdt.net == ' on: Lektrogirl _I Love My Computer_ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
