ok - here's one for the FAQ, no doubt...
can any of y'all recommend any sites/resources/lists
for someone delving into the most basic aspects of
production? i wouldn't even know how to find the "on"
button on a synth, and have never worked with any
computer production tools either. a quick flip
through mags like electronic musician or keyboard
baffles me, and there's so much stuff on the web i'm
just swimming in it. seems like there oughta be a
good square one resource out there for the clueless
such as myself. true or false?
reason: just bored with most of the records i seem to
be finding in shops lately, have kicked my vinyl
addiction almost entirely and am considering buying
some used gear to play with instead. unfortunately i
have no idea where to start or what might work! also
interested in advice on a single or a couple pieces of
starter gear that are functional for making a lot of
different sounds, maybe something like an mc-303 if
it's not a big piece of crap (tell me if it is!) -
does all that make sense?
thanks in advance if so - please hit me with any
replies off-list. respect - brock
