that track has one of my favorite beats ever. i don't know if it has a
"name" but it was also used in Hedfunk's excellent "Dark Lady." there's a
slight stutter in the snare that just makes it gel. yay breaks discussions
on idm!

he uses a HELL of a lot from Run-DMC's "Tougher Than Leather" LP. in fact,
an inordinate amount of those samples come from just a few Run-DMC, Fat
Boys, Beasties and EPMD records. most of those Fat Boys samples come from
the interludes between tracks on the LP where they're basically just
getting the giggles on tape. then there's the track where he uses all the
video games samples, the punchline being he stole most of them from the
Buckner and Garcia LP about video games. the crappy synth strings behind
the "Berserk" samples are a dead giveaway :)

>PS. Where does that "The kick goes boom..." sample come from?
that would be the Prince Marky D, from the infamous Fat Boys (nee Disco 3).
i wish it weren't so, but "Fat Boys are Back" was the first hip hop record
i ever bought, so those three clown's voices are ingrained in my psyche
until i can get my memory erased at Rekall.
Also who is

if you mean the "Dance to the speakers till your head explodes. . ." bits,
it's either sermon or parrish from EPMD. either way they're Making Dollars
:) i *think* the original was just given the remix treatment on Higher
Education (US domestic label), but i'm not certain.
