I've been listening to electronic music off and on for five years or so,
but I've just recently started buying a lot of it.
I'm looking for recommendations for "essential" IDM releases in the last
couple of years.
Stuff that I own and like:
Autechre: Incunabula, Amber, Tri Repetae++ (Amber's my fave)
Plaid: Not For Threes, Rust Proof Clockwork
Aphex Twin: Selected Ambient Works II, Surfing on Sine Waves (as Polygon
Window)
Mocean Worker: Home Movies from the Brainforest, Mixed Emotional
Features
Amon Tobin: Supermodified
Black Dog: Bytes
Orbital: Orbital II, Middle of Nowhere
The Orb: The Orb's Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld
Boards of Canada: Music Has A Right To Children (this is pretty much
welded into my CD player at the moment)
Stuff I tried and wasn't crazy about:
Squarepusher: Big Loada (most of the tracks didn't seem to go
anwhere...)
