I definately hear what you're saying. Your $.02 is valid. It's certainly more mature than the older stuff. But I'm speaking more about the way he seems to use the same instruments and sounds in a rather ordinary kind of way. Almost as if he were just playing around and felt that he had something good enough to record as a song. Like I said before, there is some really good programming on the last couple of LP's, but it's a shame that the entire composition couldn't be as tight.
