I've always liked Ortofons. But I have them on DJ tables (the blue ones) for back-cuing. For strictly home listening I don't know what I'd pick, as long as it wasn't one of the $35 audio-technicas from best buy. Haunt pawn shops and look for old school Hi Fi cartridges, and replace the needles. Your best bet is to try a few at a hi fi shop.
